December, 17 Marina Kovtun, the Governor of Murmansk region, and Sergei Veller, the president of Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Murmansk region, signed the agreement on cooperation.

The aim is to create conditions for developing and realization of various programs and initiatives to modernize regional economics; to provide investment climate for implementation of business and investment activity in the region; formation of positive business reputation of the region.

According to this agreement, cooperation covers joint efforts in social and economic development of Murmansk region regarded as an integral part of the Arctic zone of Russian Federation, interregional and international cooperation. This document also focuses on attracting foreign investments and international technical support, creating conditions for increasing competitiveness of Russian products in foreign markets, developing plans, projects and programs of strategic development of the Murmansk region, branches of industry, science and education.

The parties have agreed to prepare projects for improving legislation aimed to form efficient economics, market relations, protection of property rights, ensuring freedom of entrepreneurship and the development of business activity, promotion of international integration processes including the Barents Euro-Arctic region and the CIS.
The plan of creating the investment and infrastructure objects is formed in cooperation with the municipalities and resource organizations. Launched a bilingual Investment portal of Murmansk region.  Designed regulation of investment projects support on the principle of «one window».  The Commissioner for the protection of the rights of entrepreneurs has recently appeared in the region.

«All these measures have been developed in close interaction with the business community. It is no doubting that agreement will promote creation of good, working and business climate in our region», - said Marina Kovtun.
