The Conference took place in Murmansk on the 19th – 20th of November, 2013 supported by the Government of Murmansk Region in the framework of the II Murmansk International Business Week.

Organizer of the conference – Association of suppliers for oil and gas industry “Murmanshelf”. Co-organizers – Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Energy Industry and Housing Utilities of Murmansk Region.

There were more than 150 participants from 8 countries. The program was formed according to the integrated consideration of the leading industry specialists and experts on the key issues in the sphere of development and conduct of Arctic economic activity. The conference consisted of plenary sessions, round tables and B2B-meetings.

Participants of the conference discussed several important issues: cooperation between the Russian and foreign companies in the development of fields in the Norwegian, Barents, Pechora and Kara seas; technological readiness of industry and regional energy development; investment climate and need for specialists.

Plenary sessions included 23 reports among which were the following company representatives: Svein Age Dahl Olsen, Head of Government Relations and Public Affairs, Statoil; Steve Buck, the Kara Sea project manager, ExxonMobil Russia Inc.; Alexei Kucherovsky, Head of the Department for Industrial Safety, Labor and Civil Protection, Gazpromneft-Sakhalin; Vasily Omelchuk, Director, Kolskaya nuclear power station, branch of JSC Concern Rosenergoatom; Alexander Maslov, Deputy Director General,  Kolenergo, branch of MRSK North-West and so on.

More than 40 specialists took part in the round table discussion “Ecological aspects of business activity in the Arctic”.

15 companies discussed further cooperation during B2B-meetings on the 19 of November.
