A ceremony of keel laying of SIBUR VORONEZH lead ship, project 8106/8107 intended for LPG transportation, took place at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. Ltd., Republic of Korea. The construction of two ships of HANDYSIZE, SEMIREFRIGERATED type is carried out by order of Sovcomflot Group for OAO Novoship to dual class of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) and the Lloyd's Register (LR). RS class notation: KM✪ Ice2 [1] AUT1 OMBO LI IGS-NG ECO BWM BLS-SPM Gas carrier type 2G.

Main particulars:

    length overall – 159 m;
    breadth– 25.60 m;
    depth – 16.40 m;
    draught (moulded) – 10.90 m;
    deadweight - 22 760 t;
    main engine output – 7 780 kW.

Ships are designed with due regard to the applicable international requirements and standards, RS and LR rules. Cargo system structure incorporates 4 "C" type independent tanks intended for carriage of cargo under the pressure of 540 kPa, with the total capacity of 20 600 cu m Completion of construction and delivery of the lead ship to the customer is scheduled for the mid-July, 2013.

Survey of construction of ships at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co., Ltd is a logical following up of RS participation in the project for construction of high-tech heavy-tonnage ships at the shipyards of the Republic of Korea.

Being a global leader in the classification and survey of ice class ships, RS actively augments its potential in survey of ships intended for the gas carriage in ice conditions. For these purposes in March 2012 RS opened the Design and Newbuilding Support Centre in the Republic of Korea (Busan).
