On 20th of May 2011 in Moscow VIII International Conference “The development of Russian and CIS’ shelf-2011” took place.

The conference was supported by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, the Committee for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Federation Council of the Russian Federation, OAO “Gazprom” and the Association of Suppliers for Oil-and-Gas Industry “Murmanshelf”.

The purpose of the conference is a discussion of the strategy of exploration and development of continental shelf’s oil-and-gas potential in current financial and economic situation; examination of modern technologies for offshore deposits development and examples of implementation of decisions.

Among the participants of the Conference-2011 there are Gazprom, Rosneft, Lukoil, Gazprom Neft Shelf, Gazflot, CKBN Gazprom, Gazprom VNIIGAZ, Gazprom Neft, Shell, Shtokman Development AG, Murmanshelf, Soyuzmorgeo, CIBUR, Schlumberger, Baker Hughes, Pepeliaev Group, Sovkomflot, Cameron, Gazpromneft NTC, Rosneftflot, General Electric, Kuehne + Nagel, Vryhov Anchors B.V., FLOUSERV B.V., Sovzond, Aerosouz, Schneider Electric, Alcatel-Lucent, Trelleborg Industry, SBM Offshore, I.G. Petrochemicals Ltd., Technip France, Morneftegazproject, Instar Logistics, Dupont, Lawrence Graham (CIS) LLP and others. Residents from Murmansk, Archangelsk, Sakhalin Administrations, Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation and other representatives of power-holding structures participated in the Conference.

•    Developing of field and transport infrastructure for shelf projects.

Grigory Straty, “Murmanshelf” General director, made a report on “Technologies transfer – a way to increase Russia’s participation in offshore upstream projects”. Alliance of Russian and foreign companies for know-how and technology transfer establishment was stressed. Maxim Marchenko, “Shtokman Development AG” Technical Director – Deputy Vice-President for Phase I Development, made a presentation of “Complex development of the Shtokman gas condensate field”. All reports were of great interest for the Conference participants.

The Conference encouraged business contacts and development of Russian industry and science.
