Today in the XI International Investment Forum “Sochi – 2012” in the presence of Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Igor Sechin, President, Chairman of the Rosneft Management Committee signed the Cooperation Agreement on the joint pre-development of offshore hydrocarbon fields.
The first Industry Workshop for Logistics & Transport within the national strategic project; Russian - Norwegian Oil & Gas Industry Cooperation in the High North (RU-NO Barents Project) will take place in Norway, Kirkenes in October 25, 2012. The second Industry Workshop for Logistics & Transport will take place in Russia, Murmansk in December 4, 2012. The RU-NO Barents Project will assess the gap between the technology currently available and the technology needed for extracting oil and gas resources in the Barents, Pechora and Kara Seas in an environmentally sound and safe way. Once concluded, the Project will show where there is a need for innovation and further technological development.
Today in Vladivostok during the APEC Summit, Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Ichiro Takahara, Director General of the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy under the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry held negotiations and signed a Memorandum on the Vladivostok-LNG project in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda.

The first oil production has started at the Junin-6 block in the Orinoco River basin in Venezuela. The giant Junin-6 oil field, which has geological reserves of over 50 billion barrels of oil, will be developed on a parity basis by a consortium of five major Russian oil companies: Gazprom Neft, LUKOIL, Rosneft, Surgutneftegaz and TNK-BP through OOO National Oil Consortium (NOC).

Rosneft and Statoil have today signed documents aimed at implementing a cooperation agreement concluded on May 5, 2012. The agreements lay out the terms of joint bidding for licenses in the Norwegian section of the Barents Sea and provide for joint technical evaluation and subsequent development of tight oil resources in Russia.

Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee reported today to Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation on the progress with preparations for the first phase of the Shtokman field development. The meeting was also attended by Helge Lund, President and Chief Executive Officer of Statoil. The parties discussed a wide range of issues associated with the Final Investment Decision to be taken on the project.
