The first oil production has started at the Junin-6 block in the Orinoco River basin in Venezuela. The giant Junin-6 oil field, which has geological reserves of over 50 billion barrels of oil, will be developed on a parity basis by a consortium of five major Russian oil companies: Gazprom Neft, LUKOIL, Rosneft, Surgutneftegaz and TNK-BP through OOO National Oil Consortium (NOC).

The Gazprom delegation headed by Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Company's Management Committee is taking part in the 16th International Conference “Sakhalin Oil and Gas 2012”.

At the keynote session Alexander Medvedev delivered a speech about Gazprom's strategy in Asia.

Today in the XI International Investment Forum “Sochi – 2012” in the presence of Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Igor Sechin, President, Chairman of the Rosneft Management Committee signed the Cooperation Agreement on the joint pre-development of offshore hydrocarbon fields.

The first Industry Workshop for Logistics & Transport within the national strategic project; Russian - Norwegian Oil & Gas Industry Cooperation in the High North (RU-NO Barents Project) will take place in Norway, Kirkenes in October 25, 2012. The second Industry Workshop for Logistics & Transport will take place in Russia, Murmansk in December 4, 2012. The RU-NO Barents Project will assess the gap between the technology currently available and the technology needed for extracting oil and gas resources in the Barents, Pechora and Kara Seas in an environmentally sound and safe way. Once concluded, the Project will show where there is a need for innovation and further technological development.

Today in Vladivostok during the APEC Summit, Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Ichiro Takahara, Director General of the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy under the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry held negotiations and signed a Memorandum on the Vladivostok-LNG project in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda.

A meeting between Andrey Kruglov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee – Head of the Finance and Economics Department of Gazprom, and James Dimon, Chairman of the Board and CEO of JPMorgan Chase & Co. took place today in New York.

Rosneft and Statoil have today signed documents aimed at implementing a cooperation agreement concluded on May 5, 2012. The agreements lay out the terms of joint bidding for licenses in the Norwegian section of the Barents Sea and provide for joint technical evaluation and subsequent development of tight oil resources in Russia.

On June 21, 2012 I. Sechin, Rosneft President, and John Krenicki, GE Vice Chairman President and CEO of GE Energy, and Cristiano Tortelli, GE Energy CEO for CEE, Russia and CIS, signed a Memorandum of Understanding and a Cooperation Agreement.

During the visit a meeting of Russian-Norwegian working group on implementation of knowledge sharing project was held. The meeting was opened by the First Deputy of the Governor of the Murmansk region A. Tyukavin who emphasized the relevance of application of Rogaland experience, especially in the field of development of oil and gas clusters in the Murmansk region.

Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee reported today to Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation on the progress with preparations for the first phase of the Shtokman field development. The meeting was also attended by Helge Lund, President and Chief Executive Officer of Statoil. The parties discussed a wide range of issues associated with the Final Investment Decision to be taken on the project.

A joint Rosneft and Lukoil group for drafting projects related to developing the shelf will begin working after May 10, Lukoil President Vagit Alekperov told journalists.

The regular meeting of Shtokman Development AG (SDAG) Board of Directors was held in Moscow on March 29, 2012. Based on the decisions of December meeting, the Board reviewed whole scope of issues related to the Project Final Investment Decision (FID).

On March 12, 2012 the Frame Cooperation Agreement was signed by Shtokman Development AG (SDAG), Moscow State Institute (University) of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (MGIMO) and the International Institute of Energy Policy and Diplomacy of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations MIEP-MGIMO). The document was signed by Alexei Zagorovskiy, Chief Executive Officer, SDAG, Anatoly Torkunov, MGIMO President, member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Valery Salygin, Director of MIEP.
