Western oil companies are sponsoring the exploration of Russian Arctic waters, and the grand Yamal LNG project gets the lion’s share of investments from French and Chinese partners.

May 23, 2014 – the XI international conference “Offshore Upstream Development in Russia and CIS” will be held at the "Nikolskaya Kempinski" Moscow Hotel.

The conference is traditionally supported by “Gazprom”.
The aim of this event is to discuss strategies of studying and exploring oil and gas shelf potential in the conditions of current financial and economic situation, then to observe modern technologies in this field and possible realization of particular decisions.

The third international conference «The Arctic Region Oil and Gas»
returns on 4-5 March 2014 in the Radisson Blu Atlantic Hotel in Stravanger, Norway.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development of Murmansk region, December, 11 "State Regional Centre of Standardization, Metrology and Testing" helds a ceremony of presenting and comissioning new unit of oil testing laboratory, so called "cold room" researching oil at low temperatures.

This is the 3rd and last Industry Workshop for Environmental Protection, Monitoring Systems & Oil Spill Contingency Focus Area within the national strategic project: Russian - Norwegian Oil & Gas Industry Cooperation in the High North (RU-NO Barents Project). The RU-NO Barents Project will identify the challenges, assess the technology/solutions currently available and the technology/solutions needed for extracting oil and gas resources in the Barents, Pechora and Kara Seas in an environmentally sound and safe way. Once concluded, the Project will show where there is a need for innovation and further technological development.

This Mining & Exploration Forum, the largest in Europe, will held from 29-31 of October, 2013, at the ski resort of Levi, Main point of discussion is  the development of Fennoscandia mineral resources.

Today Marina Kovtun, the Governor of Murmansk region has had a meeting with Ole Andreas Lindeman, the new Consul General  of Norway.

Shale gas in Spitsbergen has been found by mining company Store Norsk within the research project UNIS CO2 with University of Svalbard and some other norwegian oil and gas corporations.
