History
The establishment of the Association "Murmanshelf" is one major area of co-operation according to Memorandum of Understanding in Technical and Economic co-operation between Government of Murmansk region and Statoil ASA company. Memorandum was signed 18 of August, 2005.
Founders of Murmanshelf Association: Industry and Transport and Energy Ministry, Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (Employers) of the Murmansk region, Northern Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Date of the state registration: 12.05.2006.
Murmanshelf Association currently brings together the largest building, transportation, ship repair and engineering companies in the North-West of Russia: head branch "Ship repairing plant "Nerpa", JCS "Center of repair "Zvezdochka" - (GF "FSA "Nerpa" JSC "CA "Zvezdochka") JSC "Murmansk shipping company", JSC "Stroytransgaz","Podvodrechstroy" FGU, "Stroygazkonsalting" Ltd.", etc.
The Association also includes educational, scientific and research institutions of the region: Murmansk State Technical University, The Mountain Institute and the Institute of Economic Problems of Kola Science Center RAS, Khibinskiy Technical College, Vocational School ¹ 6.

During Association activity 26 international seminar for members the Associations directed on increase of the competence of the companies-members of Association as suppliers for the oil and gas industry is spent.
Association Murmanshelf has signed a number of the important cooperation agreements:
15 june 2006 - the cooperation agreement with the company "StatoilHydro" is signed.
13 september 2006 - the contract on cooperation with the Norwegian association of suppliers "Petro Arktik" uniting 360 enterprises-suppliers for the oil and gas industry is signed.
October 2006 - the similar contract is signed with "the Regional network of suppliers "Sozvezdye", uniting suppliers for the oil and gas industry in Arkhangelsk region.
14 november 2007 - the contract on cooperation with the Norwegian organisation "INTSOK" has been signed. "Murmanshelf" became the regional partner "INTSOK" in territory of Murmansk area and republic Kareliya.
1 may 2008 - the contract on cooperation with the France association of suppliers "GEP" is signed.
16 îctober 2009ã. - àt II international conference "Shelf development: step by step", passing in frameworks of I Murmansk international economic forum, Association Murmanshelf has signed contracts about cooperation with the Canadian association of the oil and gas industry of Newfoundland and Labrador NOIA and Great Britain association SubseaUK.
31 january 2008 - the agreement on Consortium creation "Murmanshelf construction" has been signed.
26 december 2008 - Non-Profit Organization "Arctic centre for preparing specialists of oil & gas industry" has been registered.
22 july 2009 - the agreement on Consortium creation "Murmanshelf logistics" has been signed.
